Fit Guide

Find your
perfect fit.

Every Vincent Precision piece is crafted to be worn for life. Use this guide to ensure your ring, bracelet, or chain fits exactly as it should — with confidence.

A ring that fits
every season.

Ring sizing is one of the most important — and often overlooked — decisions in fine jewelry. Your finger size is not a fixed measurement. It changes with temperature, time of day, and activity. Understanding these variables ensures your ring is a pleasure to wear year-round, not just the day you receive it.

A Note on Summer Sizing — What Every Client Should Know
Heat causes your fingers to expand. During warmer months, increased body temperature causes blood vessels to dilate and soft tissue in the fingers to retain fluid — a natural physiological response. This can increase your finger's circumference by up to half a size (approximately 0.8–1mm), which is enough to make a well-fitted ring feel uncomfortably tight or even become difficult to remove.
  • If you plan to wear your piece primarily in summer — or in warm, humid climates — we recommend sizing up by a quarter to a half size from your measured baseline.
  • If your lifestyle includes outdoor activities, frequent travel, or physical work, your fingers may swell more than average. A slightly roomier fit will serve you far better long-term.
  • For engagement rings and wedding bands intended to be worn daily and indefinitely, we strongly advise measuring your finger at multiple times of day — morning, midday, and evening — and across at least two seasons before finalising your size.
  • The ideal fit allows the ring to slide over the knuckle with gentle resistance and sit snugly at the base of the finger without cutting into the skin.

Our master jewelers are always available to advise on the right fit for your lifestyle and the specific design of your piece. When in doubt, slightly larger is always easier to resize than too small.
01
String or Paper Method

Wrap a thin strip of paper or a piece of string snugly around the base of your finger — not too tight, not too loose. Mark where the two ends meet, then measure that length in millimeters against a ruler. This is your circumference.

02
Diameter Method

If you already own a well-fitting ring, place it flat on a ruler and measure the internal diameter (the distance across the inside of the band) in millimeters. Use the conversion table below to find your size.

03
Best Time to Measure

Always measure at the end of the day when fingers are at their largest. Avoid measuring when cold (fingers shrink), immediately after exercise, or first thing in the morning. For accuracy, measure three times and take the average.

04
Knuckle Consideration

If your knuckle is significantly wider than the base of your finger, size for the knuckle and plan for a slightly roomier fit at the base. Our jewelers can add sizing beads or a comfort-fit adjustment to prevent the ring from spinning.

Tip 01
Measure multiple fingers

Your dominant hand's fingers are typically slightly larger than your non-dominant hand. Always measure the specific finger the ring is intended for — don't assume symmetry between hands.

Tip 02
Half sizes matter

The difference between a size 7 and a size 7.5 is just 1.3mm in circumference — but it can mean the difference between a ring that stays put and one that constantly spins or feels restrictive.

Tip 03
Resizing is available

All Vincent Precision rings can be resized within two sizes of the original. We recommend erring slightly larger when uncertain — a ring that's a touch loose is far more wearable than one that's too tight.

The right fit
on the wrist.

A well-fitted bracelet should drape gracefully — present enough to be seen and felt, but free enough to move naturally with the wrist. The ideal fit depends on both your wrist circumference and the style of bracelet you're wearing.

01
Measure Your Wrist

Using a flexible tape measure or a strip of paper, wrap it around the narrowest part of your wrist, just below the wrist bone. Note the measurement in centimeters. This is your base wrist size.

02
Add Your Comfort Gap

Add your preferred fit allowance to your wrist measurement to get your bracelet length. A snug fit adds 1cm, a standard fit adds 1.5cm, and a relaxed fit adds 2–2.5cm. Chains and bangles typically wear better with more room.

Tennis Bracelets
Fitted & secure

Tennis bracelets should sit snugly against the wrist with just enough room to slide one finger underneath. Too loose and the stones face downward; too tight and the bracelet bunches uncomfortably.

Chain Bracelets
Relaxed & fluid

Gold chain bracelets are meant to move. A relaxed fit of +2cm is ideal — the bracelet should drape with a slight hang below the wrist bone when your arm is at rest, catching the light as you move.

Bangles & Cuffs
Slip-on comfort

For solid bangles, measure the widest part of your hand (across the knuckles with fingers together) — this is what the bangle must pass over. Add 0.5–1cm for comfortable wear. Cuffs are adjustable and more forgiving.

Custom Length Available
All Vincent Precision bracelets can be made to a specific length at no additional charge when ordering custom. Simply provide your wrist measurement and preferred fit style in your order notes, and our jewelers will size it precisely for you.

Worn at the
right length.

Chain length defines everything about how a piece reads on the body — from the intimate close-to-throat collar to the bold chest-length statement chain. The right length depends on your neckline, your build, and the impression you want to make.

Cuban Link
Bold & deliberate

Cuban links carry weight — both literally and visually. A 20–24 inch length is the classic placement for a 6–10mm chain. For wider chains (12mm+), a 24 inch length allows the piece to drape naturally without pulling on the collar.

Rope Chain
Fluid & versatile

Rope chains read differently at different lengths. At 18 inches, they're refined and tightly placed. At 24 inches, the twist pattern catches light as it moves across the chest — the showstopper position for a rope chain with a pendant.

Figaro & Cable
Classic placement

These classic styles are the most forgiving. At 18–20 inches for women and 22–24 inches for men, they sit elegantly on the chest and work with virtually every neckline. Ideal for showcasing a pendant or wearing solo.

01
Neck Circumference

For collar-length chains (14–16 inches), measure around the base of your neck where the chain will sit. Add 2–4cm to this measurement for a comfortable fit. Shorter chains should never feel tight against the skin.

02
Chest Placement Test

For longer chains, use a piece of string or a tape measure to hold against your chest at the desired drop point. Note where it falls naturally on your body — this is the most accurate way to choose between a 20 and a 22 inch length.

Layering Multiple Chains
The golden rule for layering: separate each chain by at least 2 inches in length to create clear visual tiers. A classic three-chain stack might be 16", 20", and 24" — each length occupying its own zone on the chest and reading as intentional, not tangled.
  • Mix chain styles intentionally — a delicate rope paired with a bold Cuban creates contrast and depth.
  • Keep all metals the same karat and color for a cohesive, elevated look.
  • The shortest chain should always be the finest; the longest can carry the most visual weight.
